The Fact Revolving the Petition to End Daylight Saving Time
What could be the reason why the so-called daylight saving time exists and why until now it is still existent? When you take some time to ask the people that you get to pass by regarding the matter, what their answers will be range between blaming it on World War II or I or even telling you that it is because of the farmers. If you talk about daylight saving time, unfortunately, the farmers are never big fans of them. Bear in mind that most farmers despite DST owing to the fact that it is not uniform across all areas in a state and range from one state to another. More and more farmers can never understand why they will have to wake up when the sun goes up and disregard their clock just because they must be able to follow daylight saving time in order for them to sell out the crops that they have.
Indeed, daylight saving time dates back during the first World War in the US in order for the use of artificial lighting to be reduced and having the ability to save fuel. After the first World War, some communities and states still decided to observe daylight saving time but it was only observed on a national level come World War II.
Well, how about now that World War II is over? What could be the reason why you can still observe some people who religiously follow daylight saving time?
What you need to know about the Uniform Time Act of 1966 in the United States is the fact that it is the reason as to why not only daylight saving time is being implemented but also standard time. Yet until now, you will be able to observe that the Congress is still looking for ways to be changing it time and time again. For instance, in the year 1973, daylight saving time was not only observed during the summer and spring but all year round. It was only during the year of 1986 that the practice of DST starting at 2 in the morning of first April Sunday and ending at 2 in the morning of last October Sunday became standard. During 2007, the Congress changed the standard yet again. Starting that year, the DST has been moved with starting and ending dates of the second Sunday of the month of March and the first Sunday of the month of November.
Today, the Congress again changed their 2007 DST law and had it 3 weeks earlier and then a week later. This move has only led to have countless automated gadgets be reset and have the time not synced with Africa and Asia without even having some proof that it can save some energy. You see, unless some proof comes out that DST can save some energy, it better be no longer a practice for good.
